2NE1 goes on vacation

YG Entertainment expressed on the 12th, “2NE1’s Dara, Bom, CL and Minzy will be going for their own vacation from today until 16th August. Since making their debut in May 2009 (sounds like a long time, isn’t it?), the 4 girls have been busy practically everyday with training, rehearsals and performances without a break for the past 3 months. We decided to give them a short vacation of five days to let them re-energize themselves.”

It’s believed that all 4 members will take the opportunity to visit places where they spent their childhood. Bom will head to America, Dara to Philippines, CL to Japan and Minzy will go to her granny’s place.

After ending their short summer vacation, 2NE1 will restart their promotions from the 3rd week of August.It’s a semi vacation becase they will be on camera, which you can catch on 2NE1TV soon, so look out for that.

Choi JinShil's ashes stolen!

First she loses her daughter to suicide, and now someone has stolen her daughter’s ashes from her grave. The late Choi Jin Shil’s mother made a desperate plea to the thief, “Please return my daughter’s ashes.” Choi Jin Shil’s mother reported that her daughter’s ashes are stolen from her resting place in YangSooRi GapSan Park on August 15th at YangPyeong Police station.
While being accompanied by a friend of her daughter’s (comedian Lee YeongJa she said, “I don’t know who would do such a thing, but please just return my daughter’s ashes”.

A reporter asked her if there had been a stalker and She replied, “I don’t know about that. I won’t ask anything, just please return my daugther’s ashes.” The police are currently investigating the case of ‘Choi JinShil’s stolen ashes ‘.



The police have stated, “We think that the criminal may be a extreme fan or fortune-teller who is mentally unstable. At Choi JinShil’s grave, the grave is said to have been struck by a strong metal object, of about 65mm long, hit about 11 to 15 times, before opening a hole in it and retrieving the ashes.” Since the surveillance cameras at the grave site have not been working since August 12th,therefore it does not provide any help for investigation.

A staff member has said, “Recently we have had many visitors coming in to pay respects to the late Choi JinShil, but the criminal may have came in at night, that we are unsure about.”

For those who don't know who Choi jin Shil is heres little info taken from Wikipedia.
Choi Jin Shil was a popular South Korean actress. She committed suicide at the age of 39. Since her debut in 1988 till her death in 2008 she appeared in various soap operas, movies and commercials, becoming a household name. Her popularity was widely considered due to her friendly and approachable demeanor rather than the statuesque looks of her contemporaries.

Fuji TV charity event - Alarm clock

Fuji TV held and online charity auction from August 2-9. It was luckily floaded with bidders willing to pay any amount to gain personal items and other goods autographed by Fuji TV's female announcers, athletes and TV celebrities.

The top bid item was a one and only alarm clock from Christel Takigawa of "News Japan," priced at 350,000 yen! That's one expensive alarm clock, good thing it's for charity. BUT it's not just any ordinary alarm clock. The clocks' frame is a photo of the announcer with her autograph and the ringing tone is an actual recording of her voice, which only the highest bidder gets to enjoy =)

8 Weeks of treatment for Daesung

After getting in a car accident on 11th August, it has been revealed that Big Bang DaeSung’s injuries are more serious then they were made out to be.

A representative said on 13th August, “The CT scan results came out on 12th August, the bone that encompasses the left eye is also fractured. This part will have to be treated when DaeSung undergoes surgery for his nose injuries.”..

The rep also said, “With the diagnosis results out, we will have to extend the treatment period from 6 weeks to 8 weeks.” Before the precise diagnosis, DaeSung has already have 15 stitches for the injuries on his arm. DaeSung is hospitalised at a hospital in Seoul."

Yukie Nakama gives up the tracksuit for good

Actress Yukie Nakama (29) attended an even this week for "Gokusen: THE MOVIE," which is currently showing in theaters (in Japan). It will be the last time she wore the trademark red-with-stripe tracksuit that her character, Yumiki Yamaguchi, is famous for.

I don't really like the tracksuit or the pony-tails she wears in the drama, haha, it doesn't do her justice at all, but I guess that's the point.

The PR event thats she went to in Shiodome, titled "GO! SHIODOME Jamboree Wasshoi! 2009," attracted about 1,600 people. Aqua Timez was also there. They performed a rendition of Gokusens' movie theme song "Plumeria - Hana Uta" (flower song..i think) with Nakama. Vocalist Futoshi (29) was excited when he saw her, he said, "It's the first time I've seen Kumiko in the flesh."

The plot of Gokusen: THE MOVIE follows basically the same plot as the TV series, Gokusen 1, 2 and 3. There's also a return of many of the characters from previous seasons like Oguri Shun, Kamenashi Kazuya, Takaki Yuya, Haruma Muira, Waki Tomohiro(Kuma) and many others. I was sad to see Matsumoto Jun didn't return though.

According to box office numbers, the movie seems to be doing well. About 2.33 million people have gone to see it and its taking in about 2.7 billion yen. Wow, thats a a lot. It seems to be doing better than just well. I'm happy to see that they're having this much success for the ending show.

Jay Chou goes to Hollywood

Taiwanese pop star Jay Chou is going to make his Hollywood debut in "The Green Hornet."

He has been cast as Kato, the main character's sidekick, who was previously played by Bruce Lee in the original drama in the 60s.

Hong Kong actor Stephen Chow was previously cast but he was pulled out of the production. Kwon Sang-woo was also rumored to have been chosen, but Chou got it in the end.

Another Bruce Lee role being filled. I hope he and Rain will do a good job.

The Green Hornet is scheduled for a release next summer so the filming should be starting pretty soon.

It will be used as the theme song to the drama Dandy Daddy from July 9th.

Big Bang will perform at Japan's Budokan '09

Big Bang, after debuting in Japan 4 months ago, will be performing at Japan's Budokan this November.

According to YG Enterntainment, Big Bang will be holding a concert at Budokan on November 4th. This is an amazing opportunity for them because many Japanese singers dream of performing at Budokan. This is the first time a Korean artist/group has made it to Budokan in 4 months. This just shows how successful and popular they have become in Japan. Before the concert they will have a Japan concert tour which will be hitting 6 cities starting with Nagoya on October 26th.

Although Daesung is still recovering from his injuries, YG Entertainment hopes that he will be okay in time and rejoin Big Bang and their fans in a few months. Big Bang will also be releasing their 1st Japanese album and Asia Best 2006-2009 album at the same time in 5 days, on August 19th, to promote the concert. So keeps your ears out for their new album. I know it will be great.

My Fair Lady

Much anticipated Korean drama "My Fair Lady", starring the very talented Yoon Eun Hye, will be airing very soon.

From the preview, the drama looks promising, seems to have a lot of depth and its funny. It doesn't look cliche like many dramas, so hopefully it will be fun and interesting. Also, the Lady's castle is the same house used in "Boys Over Flowers" that Goo Jun Pyo lived in! sweet..Just thought that was an interesting fact.

I really liked Eun Hye since watching "Coffee Prince" with Goong Yoo. I can't wait to see what she will do in this upcoming drama.

The main cast of My Fair Lady will also have their own reality TV show "Happy Together" airing today August 13th.

MTS drama - Kekkon Dekai Otoko

"Kekkon Dekinai Otoko", also known as "The Man Who Can't Get Married" is a 2006 Japanese drama showed on Fuji TV.

Shinsuke Kuwano(Abe Hiroshi)is a 40-yr old succesful architect who likes living alone, loves his bachelor life and vowed to never get married. He doesn't like people but can design amazing homes for them.

He has a routine of making a delicious dinner and then relaxing to loud classical music in his favorite chair while pretending to be a conductor. One night, he plays the music so loud that his next door neighbor, Michiru Tamara(Kuninaka Ryoko), knocks on the door to complain. However, when she finds him, he is on the floor in pain suffering from a terrible stomach ache. Luckily she is nice enough to take him to the hospital. He is treated by the lovely Dr. Natsumi Hayasake(Natsukawa Yui). He is rude to her but she is determined to treat him.

Afterwards, Michiru and Natsumi become a part of Kuwano's life, whether he likes it or not. They make friends with Kuwano's colleagues Eiji(Tsukamoto Takashi)and Maya Sawazaki(Takashima Reiko). They all love to talk about how strange Kuwano is and how he loves to live alone. Would anyone ever want to marry him?

TVQX - Are You A Good Girl?

TVXQ also known as Tohoshinki (Japan) and DBSK (Korea) has released a new MV for their song "Are you a good girl?" from their Mirotic album.

"Are you a good girl?" has been out for a while now, but they have now just released the MV despite all the issues they're dealing with now with SM Entertainment. The video was probably released to lessen the tension around them right now.

The MV looks very much like a fanmade video, but it isn't. It contains montages and various clip and compilations of their concert performances.

I love this song. It's so addicting. I wish though that they would've made a more awesome MV for it and not just concert clips, but it's to promote the Mirotic Concert DVD so I guess it works.

Dirty Eyed Girls?

The preview for the upcoming episode of 2PM’s Wild Bunny, shows the boys from both 2PM and 2AM (Oneday) coming together to parody the Brown Eyed Girls‘ hit “Abracadabra“. The “Dirty Eyed Girls“ will consist of Taec-yeon, Woo-young, Chan-sung, of 2PM. Seu-long, and of course Jo-kwon of 2am will make this five person group. Fashion terrorist Taec-yeon will be the group’s stylist, and maknae Chan-sung will take on the role of BEG’s Ga-in.



I can't wait to see the parody. I love Jo-kwon and think he'll make it hilarious. Plus who doesn't want to see men doing sexy hip swaying, except for well other men.

Gdragon plagiarism?!?

Big Bang GDragon’s title song ‘Heartbreaker’ is being accused of plagiarizing Flo Riders right around. GDragon released the preview to his solo album title song ‘Heartbreaker’ on his me2day at about 5pm on 11th August.

The reason he released the previews were to let fans know the kind of music to be included in his first solo album. The album will be released on the 18th of August. The reveal of ‘Heartbreaker’ has caused a debate over if it plagiarizes Flo Rida’s ‘Right Round’or not.

Netizens say, “Just 30 seconds revealed but it sounds exactly the same”, “Even though there are similarities, the melody is different” and it continues on like that.YG Entertainment has put out a statment saying, “Now we only revealed just 30 seconds to the song, it is ridiculous to call it plagiarism. ‘Heartbreaker’ did not plagiarise other’s music. Please look forward to the full song.”

There are similarities but I don't know if I would call it plagiarism, especially before hearing the full song. Listen to both, what do you think?

Abingdon Boys School - "Kimi no Uta"

"Kimi no Uta" (Your Song) is Abingdon Boys Schools' 7th album. It is scheduled to be released on the 26th of August. This is their 3rd single release of 2009 since their singles "Strength" and "JAP"

Kimi no Uta, the A-side or featured track, will be used as the opening theme for the anime "Tokyo Magnitude 8.0." Stealth-Type Zero JAP serves as the B-side in the single.

I love the whole feeling Kimi no Uta has, especially the instrumental. It's defitintely what I'd expect from ABS. Cant wait to hear the rest of the album.

Versaille's Jasmine Passes Away

Versailles announced on their official website that their bassist Jasmine You has passed away, August 9th. The bassist had previously announced that he would take some time off the band to take care of his health, and furthermore the group would continuing recording their upcoming album without him.

The band states that further details about Jasmine You's death will be revealed to fans as soon as they receive permission from his family. With the members still trying to absorb the news, the group has also said that all their upcoming activities will be postponed indefinitely.

Yet Another Comeback - Jewelry

Girl group Jewelry is coming back with their 6th album soon to take back their spot as the "Queen of girl groups". Last year they rocked the charts with their hit song "One More Time" and popular E.T Dance. This really seems to be the summer of girls groups and comebacks. But Jewelry's comeback seems to be stable because theyve been in the business long enough and their great success last year, winning the 2008 Golden Disk Award.

Jewelry members are Seo In Young, Park Jung Ah, Han Joo Yeon, Kim Eun Jun.

Their company stated, "Jewelry's 6th album will have the charm that only Jewelry has and will consist of trendy and perfected music. The members have worked hard to get ready for this album so that everyone may see them at their very best. We hope that everyone will anticipate and supposrt these girls."

SM Town's New Album!

The first four tracks on the new SM Town's album is out. It features three powerhouse boy bands: DBSK, Super Junior and Shinee. Awesome combination! Just having those 3 names together is enough to sell.

The first track released is called "Seaside." It has a very summery island feel and sounds a bit like Disneys' The Little Mermaids' "Under the Sea."

There are three remaining tracks on the album. One song will be released per stay, so stayed tuned for the rest.

SNSD holds special birthday Party for girl with cancer

SNSD helped to fulfill the wished of a girl with cancer by holding a special birthday party fo her. How sweet~ This special event was a part of SNSD's mini-album promotion for "Genie" and their 2nd time fulfilling a wish as genies.

The recipient of the 2nd wish went to Choi Hye Won, a young girl who has been battling brain cancer for the past 7 years. Her mom and dad helped organize the party for her and submitted the application for the wish to be granted.

On the 27th of July, SNSD members, Yuri, Seo Hyun, Sunny, and Hyo Yeon helped grant the wish. Hye Won, the birthday girl, loved the sea, so they arranged for her to arrive in helicopter with the 2 of the girls before landing on a ship to meet the others. The 4 SNSD girls gave her gifts like books and other things, hoping this special experience will help her recover faster or at least bring up her spirits a little bit.


Hye Won said, "It has been my dream to visit the sea with my family. I am very happy and blissful that my SNSD unnies (sisters) have granted me my wish."

Even though SNSD seemed to only be doing this for promotion reasons, it was very nice of them to choose this girl who deserves to have her wish come true. I think it was very sweet of them and they even planned a great and memorable day for her. Fighting Hye Won! I hope you recover soon.

Big Bang's Daesung Injured in Car Accident!

Earlier, Daesung was reported to have been in a car accident. Now it appears the condition isn't very good. He's not in any serious danger, but he wont be able to work for a while.

According to YG Entertainment, "Big Bang's Daesung has suffered a nose fracture and this was the same part he injured when he was little. There's also some alignment problem with Daesung's spinal cord although that will clear up by itself in about 4 weeks time. Other than that, Daesung also suffered superficial injuries on his face and arms. His arm was reported to be injured earlier on, was a non-issue after check-up."

YG also explained what happened, "Daesung was on his way back home from the site of the filming location of Family Outing at around 4. While cruising along the highway near Pyeongtaek, Gyeonggi province, there was a lot of water accumulated on the road because of heavy rain, which caused the vehicle to skid and crash onto the divider. Daesung was sitting at the side, behind his coordinator who was in front."

Daesung's manager also suffered superficial injusried on his hand and a leg injury which will receive further treatment. The coordinator received more serious injuries such as a severe bleeding on the leg, but will be fine after operation that takes place tonight. Daesung and manager will return to Seoul for further treatment.

Daesung, because of injuries will not be able to take part in the "Shouting" musical along with Big Bang member Seung Ri, which starts tomorrow.

It's really tragic to hear this happened, but luckily none of the injuries were life-threatening. We wish Daesung, his manager and coordinator a speedy recovery and hope all goes well.

Date FT Island for a day - FT Island Fulfills 2 Fangirls' Dream

When FT Island released their new album "Cross & Change," they placed a special ticket called the "Dream Ticket" which had the signatures of all the 5 members of the group. With this ticket, the lucky fan who bought the album would get to go on a date with FT Island for one day.

Two very lucky fangirls were about to share their one special day with FT Island as the boys carried out their daily activities. Both of the girls(age 17) were given bouquets and told to prepare what they wanted to say to the boys before their meeting.

The FT Island boys said due to their busy schedule, "It was a pity that we couldn't do many things together because of our schedule. It was a chance to interact with our fans closely." The boys wanted to treat the girls to a good meal, but unfortunately all they could give at the time was a simple packed meal. Im sure the girls were happy regardless because they were way to excited and having the time of their lives by just being in the boys presense.

Lee Hyori+Rhoo Seung Beom in Leessang new MV

Lee Hyori and Ryu Seung Beom will be working together in hip-hop duo Leessang's new MV playing as a long-time couple.

This will be Leessang's 6th album. Lee and Ryu are starring in the MV for the title track as a couple who has been together for 10 years. Lee agreed to participate and moved around her schedule because she was excited to hear she would be working with siblings Ryu Seung Beom and Ryu Seung Wan.

Metro Radio Arena - Diamond Megastars

Metro Radio Arena's Diamond Megastar concert featuring Andy Lau, Richie Jen and Andy Hui was held at Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre August 8th. These 3 superstars attracted countless fans who came to watch such a concert which is hard to come by.

Richie sang his Cantonese song "Pen You, Ni Bian Le Mei You" and latest singles "Fu Ge Di Yi Ju."andy then sang "Bi Yi Shuang Fei," followed by "Heal the World."

Andy also did a solo "I Wish" before the three brothers came together on stage again to sing "Di Zi Qu Tou Huan," and many other classics.

Most of the audience were Andy's fans so they all rushed to the stage when he appeared, which caused a small commotion. The concert was like an Andy fan club instead of concert for all three. Andy even did his famous Latin dance which the crowd absolutely loved.

At the end of the concert, the 3 superstars played with water guns and sprayed each other while singing. How fun! Andy even jokingly said: "Even my underwear is drenched, I didn't bring any extra." Andy also made a promise with Richie to play water guns again in Richie's upcoming concert. Also, since this coming Wednesday, August 12th will be Andy Hui's birthday, his fans bought him a cake to celebrate with him. How sweet =) however the "birthday boy" was too drenched to enjoy cake at the time.

Johnnie To claimed that the heavenly king superstars are troublesome as they need several assistants around them, but at least they know how to have fun.

Sakai Noriko's case gets sadder

The Noriko Sakai case continues. Within the past 24 hours several new details have come to light,a DNA match linking Sakai to the drugs and the revelation that Sakai and her husband, Yuichi Takaso, had been living separately…

Takaso revealed during questioning that he and Sakai were living separately. Sakai and her son had an apartment in Minami-Aoyama, where police uncovered a small amount of stimulants and a pipe. Takaso told them that the pipe was not his, and acknowledged that Sakai was also using drugs. Police confirmed that by testing some DNA found on the pipe, which matched with Sakai. She will now surely be charged with both possession and use of illegal stimulants.

The unusual relationship between Sakai and Takaso has gathered attention as well. There are some indications that the friend who was taking care of the son may actually be Takaso’s mistress. It is said that Sakai was aware of this, as she and the woman had long been friends. They continued their friendship after Takaso’s affair, and the son had even developed an attachment to the woman, making her a natural choice for Sakai to leave the son with.

Sakai’s activities before her disappearance have also been made public. On Monday after Takaso’s arrest, she quickly visited her home to retrieve some luggage. She withdrew several hundred thousand yen from an ATM and purchased a large number of clothes, underwear, and toiletries, indicating that she planned for a long trip. It is not clear whether her shopping was before or after leaving her son in the care of the friend. But Sakai seemed to have left her home in a panic, as police stated that the drugs and paraphernalia in her home were left in an easily discoverable location.

As the case continues, other details about the actress are coming out. It appears that she recently was showing up to work late, and had an unusual energy. Some who worked with her mentioned that she seemed to have lost weight. It was also mentioned that during a commercial shoot, a tattoo was discovered on Sakai’s left ankle, which had to be edited out of the footage. It is not known when she got the tattoo, though the media are highlighting it as further damage to her once “pure” image.

Meanwhile, her current commercials are of course being withdrawn. A 2-disc best album that was scheduled for September 16 has been shelved as well. Ironically, Sakai was also cast as the star of a promotional movie for the recently revived lay judge system in Japan. Naturally, the movie and its accompanying posters have been pulled back.

This is a really sad case we wish for the best for Noriko and her family. I can't help but think maybe all this happened due to the pressure of having to maintain a "pure" image.

She was decked out in the outfit used to promote her new single, “Muteki na Ai” (Invincible Love, on sale Aug 19) and performed the tune along with four other songs to an audience of 2,500 fans.
