After being criticized for her outfit being to revealing. Japan's candidate for the 2009 Miss Universe pageant will make adjustments to her costume.

“Considering the opinions we got from many supporters and other people concerned, we decided to make the hemline.. of the costume longer,” IBG Japan

What do you think of this kimono? I understand what shes going for but I think it should be a little longer.

Will Kangta return after millitary service?

Kangta's before and after millitary service. He looks like an adjussi (old man) in the after pic haha, but still very cute =)

A survey was conducted last week to see which male celebrity was the most likely to return after completing millitary service. Kangta won, recieving 22.1% of the votes.

After kangta released his last mini album "Eternity" in March '08, he decided to enter the millitary to complete the mandatory 2-year millitary service in April '08. Kangta wont be discharged from the army until mid-2010. We'll have to wait and see what his decision will be.

Asian Song Festival 2009 - Free Admission!

Girl's Generation and Super Junior have been selected to represent South Korea in this years' Asia Song Festival, which will be held in northwestern Seoul in October at the Sangam World Cup Stadium. Im so proud of them! This will be a great opportunity.

The Asian Song festival is an internationally famous event that represents singers and pop group from 9 countries such as South Korean, Japan, China, Taiwan, and Hong Kong. Performers such as Gackt and Mihimaru GT (Japan), Li Ming (HK), K-Otic (Thailand), Ho Ngoc Ha (Vietnam), and Agnes Monica (Indonesia), etc.

Ticket passes will be available in September on the festival's website at www.asf.or.kr

Update: Sorry again for the misunderstanding about the tickets. I was really confused as to whether they were free or not, but they are FREE! You can print your ticket passes online at the website above. Priority is given to foreigners travelling to South Korea, so this is good. So all who are planning to go get your tickets fast because tickets are running out!

It's about love, lifestyle and trends of people in the fashion industry; based on a chic-novel written by fashion reporter Baek Young-ok. Son Dambi's debut in sports drama "Dream"

Singer Son Dambi, mostly known for ther singing and dancing skills, has tried acting before in Hollywood, but it wasn't much of a success. However, this summer she has recently made her acting debut in new sports drama, "Dream." Son Dambi worked very hard to be fit for her role. She started taking taebo 3 months before the drama and lost a bit of weight, but she continued working on her skills, practising up to 6 hours a day 0_0..intense. Hope all her work pays off. I watched the first part of the 1st episode..looks interesting.

Here's a preview

Dream is about a boy, Lee Jang Suk (Kim Bum) who spent time in a juvenile detention center for stealing wallets. After he gets out, he meets a sports agent, Nam Jae Il (Joo Jin Mo) who helps him achieve his dreams of becoming a top mixed martial arts boxer. Son Dambi plays as taebo teacher, Lee So Yeon, the daughter of a mixed martial arts academy director.

MTS First Drama

Just late night drama searching, like I usually do, and I stumbled upon Hana Kimi (Taiwanese

version).

I remember my first time watching this drama in Summer '07. It was the first Asian drama I'd ever seen..on dial-up (a very painful experience>_<) but it was worth it and I've loved Asian dramas ever since then. Hana Kimi stars Ella Chen, from girl group S.H.E, and very hot Wu Chun, from boy band Farenheit. I really recommend watching this drama. It's very cute and funny, for those who love melodramatic acting.

There is also a Japanese version of this drama for those who are interested, staring very talented actors such as Horikita Maki, Ikuta Toma, Oguri Shun, Mizushima Hiro, Yamapi and many others.

Erika Sawajiri's comeback..ever??

Erika Sawajiri has been facing a lot of scrutiny from the Japanese media since last years' incidents. One including her big PR disaster last year (responding "betsu ni," meaning nothing special when asked about her role in a new movie "Closed Note") and acting in a very rude and unprofessional way..gaining her the name "Erika-sama" for her uptight attitude. Also, her very surprising marriage to 44 yr old Takashiro Tsuyoshi in January.

There are rumors that she will be making her comeback this year as the lead female (Mori Yuki) in a live action "Space Battleship Yamato" film directed by Ishiguro Noboru, but it hasn't been confirmed yet because she doesn't seem to want to return to Japan from travelling with her husband. Personally, I don't know much about Erika, except that she has a lot of talent. She's a great actress and singer. I'm really rooting for her comeback..hopefully. Erika, Ganbatte!

Jolin Tsai and Rain expand into other industries

Earlier this year both Rain (Korea) and Jolin Tsai (Taiwan) unleashed their new clothing lines. Do you see a trend here? Even though originally pop stars, they both seem to be gaining success in the fashion industry.

Rain is no longer just and actor/singer, but also the head designer and main model of his new brand Six to Five. His brand covers items from leather boots, jackets, cute tops and denim shorts with a hint of edginess. Even, singer lee Hyori was seen wearing clothing from his women's line. He doesn't see himself as a designer, but someone who likes comfortable, but fashionable clothes. Rain plans to expand his brand across Asia, Europe and the U.S.

Jolin Tsai's cloting line 72 Changes has also made success in New York, partnering with L.A.M.B and Saks 5th Avenue to launch her fashion line in Soho, New York. The name 72 Changes comes from one of her best selling albums, Magic (2003). Her brand covers rock, disco, street jazz, and sweet styles. 72 Changes is now being sold in Hong Kong, Shanghai, and other major cities in Asia.

Tae Yeon Hospitalized

Right after SNSD's performance at SBS Inkigayo on July 26th, Tae Yeon seemed to have flu-like symptoms and was taken to the hospital. When she reached the emergency room, she was in stable condition, apart from having a high fever and swollen tonsil.

SM Entertainment released that Tae Yeon is recovering and will be up and ready to promote SNSD's song Genie from their new mini album.

Jerry Yan and Ella Chen in upcoming drama

Jerry Yan, member of taiwanese boy band JVKV (formerly F4) and Ella Chen, member of S.H.E team up for the first time in new GTV drama "Just Want to Depend on You."

Jerry will play as a ruthless lawyer and Ella, a nanny who takes care of 2 children. In the drama, for whatever reason, Jerry mistakes her as a lesbian! It seems Ella is always being mistaken as something in dramas (anybody remembers Hana Kimi?). However, later on he will develop a relationship with her and the 2 children.

Jerry and Ella have never met before, but in filming they seem to have great chemistry. Jerry is very confident and Ella, with her extroverted nature, is always joking around. Hopefully this anticipated drama will be awesome.

Make It Yourself - Asian fusion dish

Dubu Wanja Tuignim (Tofu ball fry), fried mushrooms and Japanese Rice

TOFU BALL FRY:

Ingredients~

Tofu - 40 ounces

Peeled Shrimp - 3.5 ounces or 100g

Green onion - 1/2 stalk

Red pepper - 2 pieces

Ginger juice - 1/2 tsp

Egg - 1

Flour/Starch powder - 2 tbsp

Salad oil - 3 cups

Pepper and salt - to your taste

Preparations~

1.) Take out the tofu and drain the water; use a paper towel to get out the excess. Then, using hands mash it finely.

2.) Chop shrimp, green onion and red pepper.

3.) Put all the ingredients in a bowl and mix them well by hand. Add the egg and starch powder or flour and mix again.

4.) Shape the misture into 1-inch balls and fry them in salad oil at medium heat.

5.) Serve with a seasoning dip (2tbsp soy sauce and 2 tsp vinegar). Mix well.

FRIED MUSHROOMS:

Ingredients~

Mushrooms - 6 whole pieces (or however many you like)

Cooking oil - to cover base of frying pan

Preparations~

1.) Fry till light brown/cooked. Can also be served with seasoning dip.

JAPANESE RICE:

Ingedients~

Japanese rice - 1 cup

Water - 1 1/5 cup (water should be 1/2 inch above rice level)

Deep pan

Preparations~

1.) Wash rice with cold water in a colander until water becomes clear.

2.) Place rice in a pan or rice cooker and add water. Let rice soak for at least 30mins.

3.) If using a pan, cover the pan with a lid and bring to a boil with high heat. The turn heat to low and cook for 15 to 20mins untill water is almost gone.

4.) Remove from heat and let the rice steam in pan for about 10mins.

Serve and enjoy!

SBS Inkigayo (07/26/09)

2pm+2ne1+BEGs = awesome

SBS Inkigayo features new releases in the Kpop industry with singers and bands performing their latest work.

Taekyeon and Woo Young, members of 2pm were the new hosts of SBS Inkigayo. 2pm' s MC debut stage was well done and creative.




Brown eyed girls also performed their songs candy man and Abracadabra. I think they did a great job in changing the dance (Ga-in pt from vid) but keeping it sexy. Miryo's (rapper) sunglasses are hot, amazing vocals, and choregraphy check it out! Think they did a good job?




Congratulations to 2NE1 for winning #1 at SBS Inkigayo today!
